Horror Sequels Coming Out In 2021 To Really Get Excited About

Quite a few films that were supposed to come out over the past year were pushed back to 2021. As a result, a new horror film is expected to release nearly every month this year. Many are sequels to horror movies we all know and love! Of course, these release dates could change again, but if everything goes smoothly, this will be an exciting year for horror fans! Here’s what you can expect:

With murders taking place similar to the “Jigsaw” killings, police veteran Marcus Banks (Samuel L. Jackson), Detective Ezekiel Banks (Chris Rock), and his partner Detective William Schenk (Max Minghella) investigate the murders. As the investigation plays out, Detective Zeke finds himself stuck in the game.

 

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It

This film is based on the 1981 trial of Arne Cheyenne Johnson, a case in which the defense attempted to prove his innocence by arguing his actions were a result of demonic possession. In this sequel, Paranormal investigators and authors Lorraine Warren (Vera Farmiga) and Ed Warren (Patrick Wilson) will seek out the truth.

While this fifth Purge film should finally conclude the series, the plot is still unknown.

The blind man has been hiding out for years meanwhile raising a young orphan girl. After a group of criminals suddenly kidnap the little girl, the blind man must leave the comfort of their cabin in an attempt to rescue her.

This is a sequel to the 1992 film Candyman, set years later in the present. Anthony McCoy and his girlfriend Brianna Cartwright move into a loft in Cabrini. Soon after, Anthony meets someone who tells him the Candyman story. This supernatural killer has a hook for a hand and is summoned when his name is said five times in a mirror. Anthony explores the story through his art which drives him insane and leads to many violent acts.

Directly following the events in the Halloween movie from 2018, Michael Myers continues to be a threat in Haddonfield. Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) works with her family and others, hoping to form a group of people willing to fight back against him.

Beyond sequels, other horror movies are coming out this year with high expectations, so be on the lookout for those as well.
