Why “Silence of the Lambs” is one of the best horror films there is…
“I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti.” – Hannibal Lecter
The film, Silence of the Lambs (1991) is one of the most terrifying horror movies that I have ever seen. Not only does the plot of this film keep you on the edge of your seat, but the acting is also phenomenal. This is definitely why Academy Awards were given to Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins in 1992.
The plot for Silence of the Lambs is not only truly gruesome (and even triggering for some); it is also a tight plot that will have you reaching for the popcorn all the way through. The movie is literally that is that good!
One of the best things about Silence of the Lambs is the terrifying interaction between the characters Clarice and Hannibal Lecter. This is despite the characters only having 10 minutes of total film time together. Anthony Hopkins in his role manages scares the pants off of any person watching this movie.
The scare factor is so incredibly good, the plot keeps getting scarier and more heightened with every scene, and it is hard for even the toughest of movie-goers to not have at least a few jump scares while watching this film.
Based on these examples, it is safe to see why Silence of the Lambs is one of the best Physiological Horror films to date.
