Best Horror Movies

Watch the best horror movies on Amazon Prime and ask yourself “How alone do I feel?”

As August rolls into September and summer begins to wind down, a new batch of terrifying movies will be making their way onto Amazon prime. Here are the best horror movies coming to Amazon Prime Video this September!

Arachnophobia (1990)

Whether you are afraid of spiders or not, we can all agree we hate them. Jeff Daniels stars in this comedy-horror classic movie about a family man who moves to a small town to replace the retiring physician. However, the small-town dream he may have had becomes more than he bargained for when his new home becomes plagued with arachnids in nightmare-inducing droves. They threaten the lives of his family and the entire town, and it is up to him to protect his new home. If that wasn’t bad enough, he is deathly afraid of spiders! To save his fellow townsman and his family, he must face his fears and destroy the queen and her general before all is lost. Available now on Amazon Prime.

I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997)

A tale of teenage irresponsibility and deadly consequences— a night of reckless partying ends in disaster when four teens inadvertently hit a man while driving. Scared and fearing for their futures, they hide their crime and swear one another to secrecy, desperately wanting to put the tragedy behind them. One year later, they have moved on from their secret and each other. Unfortunately, someone knows what they did the summer before, and they are not looking to move on. Instead, they are looking for punishment by the bloodiest of means. Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prince Jr. lead this slasher classic that is a perfect and terrifying ending to a long hot summer. Fans of the slasher genre will delight in this horror movie addition to Amazon Prime coming September 1st. If that’s not enough, it can tie horror lovers over until October 15th, when the new TV series adaptation will drop and scare fans again.

The Descent (2005)

If you are claustrophobic, then watch this 2005 horror movie masterpiece at your own risk. A year after the loss of her husband and daughter in a horrific car crash, a still-grieving Sarah reunites with her thrill-seeking friends for a spelunking expedition. Deep into a tight cave, things go sideways when a rock slide blocks the way they got in, sealing them inside. The only way out is forward. As if things weren’t bad enough, Juno (the group’s leader) doesn’t have a map. There isn’t one. The cave is completely uncharted, and she wanted the way through to be their discovery. What follows is a stifling trek through pitch darkness that tests their resolve, bonds, and sanity, because deep in the heart of the mountain, they are not alone. Available now on Amazon Prime.

The Boy (2016)

In search of easy money and an escape from her troubles, Greta (Lauren Cohen) takes a nanny position for an elderly wealthy couple in the United Kingdom. In a secluded home far from civilization, she takes up residence in their house to watch their son Brahms. However, the simple job takes a strange turn because their son isn’t a boy at all. It’s a porcelain doll that they treat like a real boy. Left with “the boy” and a list of rules for his care, Greta buckles down for what she expects to be an easy few months of house sitting when things begin to seem off. It’s as if she isn’t alone in the house and something or someone is there with her. This surprisingly good thriller is sure to keep you guessing this September with a surprising twist you won’t see coming.
