All of Us Are Dead (2022): Coming to Netflix

All of Us Are Dead

Zombie Mania Hits Netflix January 28th

Zombie mania will hit Netflix in a few short weeks with the premiere of All of Us Are Dead (2022).

Lee Jae-Kyu, director of the new series and famous director of Korean dramas, is bringing his new horror series to our living rooms.

The Director Lee Jae-Kyu

Lee Jae-Kyu is no stranger to the director’s chair. According to Imdb.com, he has nine directorial credits to his name. A few of his works include Intimate Strangers (2018), The Influence (2010), and Fatal Encounter (2014). However, All of Us Are Dead will not only be his first project since 2018 but one of his first dives into horror. The brunt of Jae-Kyu’s works rests in the genre of drama. This is not an issue of great concern as many talented directors have managed to segue from drama to horror masterfully,

The Anticipation Builds

There is a vast amount of anticipation surrounding the film. However, it’s not the least bit unexpected. Some of the top-tier movies of the past few years have been Korean horrors. If this series is anything like #Alive (2020), Kingdom (2019), Sweet Home (2020), or other offerings on Netflix, then it will not disappoint.

Why All the Excitement?

The excitement is palpable! Why shouldn’t it be? Korean horror has been entertaining international audiences for a while now. In 2016, Yeon Sang-ho captured the attention of filmgoers with the South Korean horror film Train to Busan. Hands down, Sang-ho’s film was one of the most intriguing zombie films in a long time. Then, Bong Joon-ho stunned us with South Korean thriller Parasite (2019). Joon-ho’s work was so phenomenal that it made history. Parasite was the first foreign-language film to win an Oscar for best picture. And Hwang Dong-hyuk showed the world how intense and horrifying a thriller could be with Squid Games (2021), which maintained the top spot as one of the most-watched films on Netflix.

A Few Basics on All of Us Are Dead

All Of Us Are Dead, which contains 12 episodes, is original content. The series is said to be based on a familiar webtoon. In the upcoming series, a group of high school students finds themselves amid a zombie infestation. Unfortunately for them, they must find a way to survive the apocalyptic nightmare while waiting for rescue. And we get to hold on as the audience. How enthralling!

The trailers for this upcoming series packs quite the punch. The imagery is vivid, and the frames are full of edge-of-seat moments. Fortunately, fans will not wait too long to experience the apocalyptic tale. The anticipated series is expected to make its premiere on January 28th.
