A Worldwide Phenomenon any 90’s Child Will Remember Fondly

Television star, mixed martial artist, and father of four Jason David Frank has tragically passed away. Referred to as JDF by his loving fans, many will best remember his contributions to the Power Rangers franchise, appearing in the role of Tommy Oliver – The Green Ranger. Shortly after the character’s introduction, he became a worldwide phenomenon that any 90’s child will remember fondly. The news of his passing was confirmed by the actor’s rep Justine Hunt, who made the following statement:
“Please respect the privacy of his family and friends during this horrible time as we come to terms with the loss of such a wonderful human being. He loved his family, friends, and fans very much. He will truly be missed.“
Outside his acting career, many will also remember JDF’s MMA career which saw him victorious in his only professional fight against Jose Roberto Vasquez, as well as four amateur fights. The actor had been a lifelong practitioner of martial arts, holding Black Belts in Judo, Taekwondo, Wado-Ryu Karate, 8th Dan Black Belt in Shotokan Karate as well as a Purple Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Ajarn Degree in Muay Thai. JDF was also inducted into the World Karate Union Hall of Fame in 2003. Many fans who knew JDF on the convention circuit have expressed their appreciation for the late actor.
