A Quiet Place Day One

The Prequel to The Ultimate Apocalyptic Terror is Underway

Shhh — quiet on the set! A Quiet Place: Day One is currently in production, and set photos have been released for fans to get a sneak peek. The prequel to the critically acclaimed A Quiet Place film series is scheduled for a March 8th, 2024 release date.

In early February, series creator, John Krasinski, updated his Instagram followers and horror fans on the production’s status by sharing pictures from the horror set.

“So honored to be there day 1 of @aquietplacemovie DAY ONE with the maestro [director] Michael Sarnoski and legendary [Lupita Nyong’o],” he captioned an Instagram post at the time. “Cannot wait to see what magic they conjure in this one!”

The movie is expected to be a spin-off prequel of the original two films. A synopsis has not been revealed yet. However, cast members including Lupita, Nickelodeon alum Alex Wolff and Stranger Things actor Joseph Quinn were confirmed to be the main stars. Emily Blunt and the rest of the original cast from the first two installments are, sadly, not confirmed to be in the prequel.

The Paramount Pictures movie franchise grew in popularity rather quickly after the 2018 film hit theaters. For the first time in a while, audiences had to get used to not chewing their popcorn so loudly in theaters so that they could fully enjoy this film.

A Quiet Place Day One

Krasinski directed the first two films and co-starred with his wife, Emily, as they portrayed parents Lee and Evelyn Abbott to children Regan (Millicent Simmonds), Marcus (Noah Jupe), and Beau (Cade Woodward). Beau, however, is killed instantaneously by a creature after innocently playing with a toy rocket at the beginning of the first film. So, the Abbott family takes shelter in an abandoned home as they try to survive a new lifestyle by living in complete and utter silence.

By the end of the first movie, Regan figures out a way to repel the post-apocalyptic monsters with her cochlear implant. As the surviving Abbott family members try to run with their new secret weapon in A Quiet Place Part II, they encounter the creatures face to face as they attempt to find other survivors.

The concept of the franchise wasn’t expected to perform as well as it did. However, the horror genre keeps evolving, and Krasinski clearly understood the assignment. Now that a prequel without him and the original brilliant actors is underway, fans aren’t sure what to expect. However, the only way to know is to see it for themselves on March 8th, 2024.
