Peacock Releases Trailer For Upcoming Series “MRS. DAVIS” Ahead of Today’s SXSW Premiere

SXSW

A Holy Adventure Unlike Anything

In the war for streaming supremacy, every contender does what they can to stand out amongst the pack. To do so, they need to make sure they are putting out content that is miles above the competition. Peacock is a streamer that’s been putting out a lot of original shows. Some are easily forgettable, but others stand alone as the best on TV and streaming. Now, Peacock is gearing up to introduce the world to a new show about a holy adventure.

MRS. DAVIS is an exciting new series from the brilliant minds of Tara Hernandez (The Big Bang Theory) and Emmy Award winner Damon Lindelof (Lost) and follows a nun named Simone on an epic journey to destroy the most powerful A.I. that the world has ever seen. This entity is known as Mrs. Davis. This series stars Emmy Award-nominated actress Betty Gilpin (GLOW, The Hunt) as Simone alongside a lover from her past played by Jake McDorman (Dopesick, The Right Stuff) in this all-new original action adventure.

The trailer for MRS. DAVIS dropped today ahead of its premiere at SXSW, and from the looks of it, Simone is all out of patience as far as the A.I. is concerned. Through the use of its thousands of listening hosts, the A.I. seems to be calling Simone on a journey to find the holy grail. However, Simone is not feeling too compliant and seeks to destroy MRS. DAVIS instead. Lucky for her, her old flame Wiley shares this objective and is working with a secret group to do so.

MRS. DAVIS will also star Andy McQueen (Station Eleven, Fahrenheit 451) and Tom Wlaschiha (Game of Thrones, Dangerous Liaisons) as Jay and Father Ziegler respectively. Based on the trailer, they both may be filling antagonistic roles. Especially Wlaschiha. One can never trust a one-eyed pastor shrouded in darkness.

Peacock’s MRS. DAVIS will be premiering on the streaming service on Thursday, April 20 with four episodes, with the remaining episodes set to drop weekly. The series will also premiere tonight at SXSW at 5:00 PM CT at the Stateside Theater.
