Netflix Announces April Release Date for "Better Call Saul"
Netflix will begin airing the sixth and final season of Better Call Saul on April 18th, 2023. The first seven episodes will air beginning in April and then, after taking a month and a half off, the final six episodes will air starting on July 12th, 2023. Nominated for over 50 Emmy awards over the length of its run but not yet having won the award, Better Call Saul’s final six episodes will qualify the show for the next round of Emmy nominations. Better Call Saul, season six was originally aired on AMC+ in the spring and summer of 2022 and has already been distributed to several countries around the world.
Final Season Cast – Familiar & New Faces
Better Call Saul stars Bob Odenkirk as Albuquerque lawyer Jimmy McGill who slowly transforms himself into Saul Goodman, Better Call Saul prequels the hit show Breaking Bad by chronicling Saul’s transformation from an agent of the court to an accessory to the crime. Bob Odenkirk has been nominated five times for a primetime Emmy for Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his performance in Better Call Saul. He also won the 2022 Critics Choice award for Best Actor in a Drama Series for his work.
Better Call Saul co-stars Rhea Seehorn as attorney Kim Trexler Rhes was nominated in 2022 for a prime-time Emmy for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her portrayal as Jimmy McGill’s wife and fellow conspirator.
Also returning for the final season is Michael Mando as Nacho Varga, Patrick Fabian as Howard Hamlin, Jonathan Banks as Mike Ehrmantraut, Giancarlo Esposito as Gus Fring, Tony Dalton as Lalo Salamanca, Mark Margolis as Hector Salamanca, and Ed Begley Jr. as Cliff Main.
Reprising their Breaking Bad characters for season six of Better Call Saul is Aaron Paul as Jesse Pinkman, David Ury as Spooge, and featuring Bryan Cranston as the iconic Walter White.
Final Season to Align with Breaking Bad
Jimmy McGill’s compromised and often targeted transformation into Saul Goodman takes twisted turns as his story aligns more and more with the beginning storyline of Breaking Bad. His relationship with Kim becomes even more complex as Kim must deal with her own personal crisis. Mike Ehrmantraut, Nacho Varga, Gus Fring, and Lalo Salamanca continue to play a dangerous game of stalk and shoot that threatens their very existence.
Where to Watch
Netflix will release the first episode on April 18th, 2023 with six more episodes to follow through the end of May. Then Better call Saul takes a month and a half break before the final six episodes starting on July 12th, 2023. The complete slate of episodes for season six is also available on DVD and Blu-Ray.
The Final Season
Better Call Saul was created by Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould and is part of the Breaking Bad franchise acting as both a prequel and sequel to that popular series. There are no plans for a spin-off series.
