It’s no secret that billions of people around the globe grew up watching Harrison Ford embark on a number of escapades ranging from treasure hunting to fighting the enemy (when we weren’t watching him battle Darth Vader as Han Solo, that is). And most of those movie-watchers probably never, in their wildest dreams, guessed that they would get to watch Ford reprise his role as the daring Indiana Jones one more time in the franchise’s fifth installment, Indiana Jones: The Dial of Destiny.
Fans of the John-Williams-composed films are certainly in for a treat this summer with Ford’s talents swinging back into theaters on June 30th, 2023, but until then, here’s a recap of the trailer for those who have yet to join in on the excitement.
A remarkably fast-paced trailer with the film’s classic fanfare blaring in the background, the scene is set by Sallah, who first appeared in Raiders of the Lost Ark as “the best digger in Egypt” according to Jones. He seems to locate a much older Indiana Jones on the street, claiming to miss their escapades. While Ford’s character is quick to remind his friend that those days have passed, it is certain that they have in fact not.
