The As-Of-Now Untitled Comedy Series Brings Bell Back To The Streaming Platform.

Netflix has green-lit a new comedy series starring Kristen Bell and created by Erin Foster. Netflix has ordered this new show from 20th Television, a television production company that makes up a part of the Walt Disney Company. Other shows distributed by the production company include the sitcom: Modern Family and other Netflix shows such as Ratched, Arrested Development, and The Politician. Also attached to the comedy is Steve Levitan, who executive produces.

The plot will derive from “the unlikely relationship between an irreverent, outspoken, agnostic woman and an unconventional rabbi.” Bell will act under the role of the female lead, but the casting of the rabbi is unannounced as of now. Kristen Bell has done previous work as Eleanor in The Good Place, a fantasy comedy series about a conceptual afterlife, and The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window, a satirical series parodying media across the horror and thriller genre. Both shows are streamable on Netflix, with the latter being a Netflix Original.

Talent In Front Of The Camera And Behind It

The executive producer and creator of the series is the daughter of Canadian composer David Foster, Erin Foster. Erin and her sister Sara were co-creators on the VH1 show Barely Famous, a somewhat autobiographical satire loosely based on their lives of being quasi-celebrities. Through the lens of a parody reality television show, Barely Famous documents the Foster Sisters’ attempt to increasing their status and becoming A-listers.

Steve Levitan has accomplished previous work on Modern Family, where he worked as an executive producer and co-creator. Levitan recently worked on Hulu Comedy Reboot, which received positive reviews from critics.

The highly anticipated project was formerly known as Shiksa but is currently unnamed. The former title is a term used by Jewish people regarding gentile or not Jewish people. The new show will  be the first series from 20th Television to come to Netflix since its acquisition by the Walt Disney Company.

No further details are available at this time about the show, but stay tuned to Dead Talk News for updates as the production moves further along.
