Netflix’s XO Kitty Premieres Soon: What to Expect

XO Kitty

A Spinoff of To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before Is Almost Here!

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before fans have been dying for this moment — its spinoff series, XO Kitty’s release date. The Netflix show will premiere on Thursday, May 18, and the upbeat trailer is nothing short of adorable!

The teaser starts with our favorite matchmaker, Kitty Song Covey (Anna Cathcart) recalling how she brought her sister Lara Jean (Lana Candor) and boyfriend Peter together in the ultimate love story from the hit film franchise. Now, Kitty’s ready to embark on her own adventure to find her happily ever after with long-distance boyfriend Dae (Minyeong Choi), who attends the Korean Independent School of Seoul (KISS for short). However, she soon learns that this next chapter may be more about herself.

“This isn’t all about a boy,” Kitty is heard saying in the trailer. “I’m ready to start experiencing new things. I want my own adventure.”

Her statement proves to be true as the teaser quickly takes a turn for the worse in Kitty’s world — Dae actually has a girlfriend, who is not Kitty.

Since she moved all the way to Seoul with no family or friends nearby, Kitty finds her own way and paves a path toward her future.

“They say ‘Go big or go home,’ right?” Kitty asks at the end of the teaser.

Author Jenny Han, who served as an executive producer for the To All the Boys franchise, is also acting as co-showrunner for the series.

The cast is a mix of new and familiar faces. John Corbett reprises his role as Kitty’s father Dan Covey, while Sarayu Blue returns for her role as Dan’s girlfriend, Trina. The rest of the cast includes Gia Kim as Yuri, Sang Heon Lee as Min Ho, Anthony Keyvan as Q, Peter Thurnwald as Alex, Yunjin Kim as Jina, Michael K Lee as Professor Lee, Jocelyn Shelfo as Madison and Regan Aliyah as Juliana.

The 10-episode spinoff series will hit Netflix on May 18.
