January 12th star of Kids Vs. Aliens stopped by Dead Talk Live for a little chat. And it was a dreamer’s dream.
The segment began with a deep dive into Kids vs. Aliens and, more specifically, MacDonald’s role as Billy. Throughout the conversation, MacDonald covered the aspects of landing the role of the primary character Billy, Billy’s character development, and his perception of the script. Then he drilled down to his basic method for getting into general character and how that process diverged or converged with his portrayal of the main antagonist.
MacDonald broke down Billy’s character to an almost cellular level during the twenty-minute exploratory exchange. MacDonald’s approach was open, and his explanation thorough. Before closing, there was a touchpoint where MacDonald was asked about another more personal passion, aviation, and how he balanced it and his role in the hit Netflix series, The Umbrella Academy. His explanation was succinct and full of heart.
By the end of the conversation, it was evident that MacDonald was a dreamer of the highest order. And he was also proof that a person can have many passions and pursue them both. As MacDonald said, his dream is to follow both as best he can. And what is known of those who work hard enough and have a strong enough passion to undergird that work ethic, anything is possible.
Calem MacDonald is an impassioned actor with roles in such features as the Umbrella Academy, Kids Vs. Aliens and Trailer Park Boys. His appearance on Dead Talk Live was merely a glimpse into his craft and his passions. So, for all those who would like to see what a real dreamer looks like, catch the recap of Calem MacDonald’s appearance on Dead Talk Live.

Florence Pugh became the most recent victim in incidents involving audience members tossing objects at stars on stage. The Academy Award-nominated actress was recently attacked while sitting on a panel to discuss Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi sequel, Dune: Part Two, on Sunday at a Comic-Con event in São Paulo, Brazil.
The series was picked up by Amazon back in April and will function as an update to the original 1999 film, which was based on the classic novel ‘Dangerous Liaisons,’ written by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos.
Due to a $30 million in global revenue pull, coupled with positive critical reviews, Director Eli Roth’s horror has just catapulted into potential franchise territory.
