Throughout the conversation, MacDonald covered the aspects of landing the role of the primary character Billy, Billy’s character development, and his perception of the script. Then he drilled down to his basic method for getting into general character and how that process diverged or converged with his portrayal of the main antagonist.

Before closing, there was a touchpoint where MacDonald was asked about another more personal passion, aviation, and how he balanced it and his role in the hit Netflix series, The Umbrella Academy.
