Neil Gaiman has been just about as secretive about the next season of Amazon Prime Video’s Good Omens as he possibly can be in the age of the internet. Ever since the renewal announcement back in the summer of 2021, fans across all social media platforms have been begging him for any sort of hint to what might be in store. His answer? “Wait and see.”
What We Know So Far
The most recent information provided about the show is that it has been finished and handed into Amazon and that the trailer may not come out until just before the actual show is released. Though a specific date has not yet been set for the show’s arrival, it is still anticipated to premiere during the summer of 2023.
In the meantime, fans are awaiting the new season with breathless wonder. With as scant information as we have about the upcoming episodes, there’s a lot of speculation around what the contents might entail, centered around the confirmation that it includes a deeper look into Heaven and Hell, as well as more backstory for our favorite angel-demon duo.
For as little as we know about the plot, there are many confirmations of actors involved in the project. Michael Sheen and David Tennant are reprising their roles as Aziraphale and Crowley, respectively. Other returning actors include Jon Hamm (Gabriel) and Derek Jacobi (Mettatron), with many other minor characters reprising their roles as well. Some familiar actors, such as Miranda Richardson, will be returning to the screen as new characters.
In addition to all of the returning actors, there are a handful of newcomers, including Quelin Sepulveda as Muriel, Liz Carr as Saraqael, and Tim Downie, Alex Norton, Andi Osho, Shelley Conn, Pete Firman, and Siân Phillips as yet undisclosed characters. Recently, Tennant’s father-in-law, Peter Davison, and son, Ty Tennant, were also confirmed to be part of the new season’s cast.
