And Just Like That Season Two Premieres This June

And Just Like That – The New SATC Season is here

It has been a while since the Sex And The City spin off of And Just Like That debuted in 2021. Although Season 1 of And Just Like That wrapped up a lot of heart wrenching storylines, it also left viewers with more than a few unresolved questions. With promises of exciting new fashion, surprise celebrity appearances, and reemerging of past cast members, here’s what to know about the new second season so far.

Season One Recap and Season Two Storyline

Carrie, who lost her longtime love Mr. Big last season, has been trying to find herself again with new partners and new sex, trying to cope with life and grief. Charlotte and Harry (Evan Handler) will continue to balance both charismatic daughters while trying to keep up with changing cultural norms providing for some much needed current parental insight. Miranda also teases “a big step up” for her relationship with Che following her separation from her longtime husband, Steve (David Eigenberg). But for real, poor Steve. And finally, will we see Samantha?

Aidan (John Corbett) and Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall) were the two main characters from SATC who did not appear in And Just Like That Season 1.

Return Cast Members

Aiden (John Corbet) is slated to return for Season 2, amid a mix of mostly cheers and a few groans. However, Aiden is perhaps the only guy from the entire cast of SATC series that wasn’t a complete dirtbag.

Also returning for their original roles are Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda Hobbes (and now producer, Cynthia Nixon), and Charlotte York Goldenblatt (Kristin Davis), as they continue to navigate the ups and downs of their lives with each other in the Big Apple (and perhaps other cities?).

A Change of Pace

Although all the characters seem to have transformed into a disconnected privileged class, Season 2 welcomes a long overdue culturally and gender diverse cast. The new season is shaken up with some refreshing new and returning faces: Che Diaz (Sara Ramirez), Seema Patel (Sarita Choudhury), Lisa Todd Wexley (Nicole Ari Parker), Dr. Nya Wallace (Karen Pittman), Anthony (Mario Cantone), and Bobby Lee (Jackie Nee). Tony Danza, Candice Bergen, and singer Sam Smith are also said to be in this season’s cast.

Michael Patrick King returns as the showrunner, writer, and executive producer of the Season 2. Filming for Season 2 took place through late 2022 into 2023 with the spotting of cast members all over New York City

What’s The Tea and When?

There will be eleven episodes total with the first two premiering on Thursday, June 22, 2023 followed by one new episode a week every Thursday. It will all culminate with the finale on Thursday, August 24. Ah, sweet sweet torture of leaving us all in anticipation!

So gather your best friends and a Cosmopolitan or mocktail of your choice and tune into MAX on June 22!
