Teaser trailer for Five Nights At Freddy’s Has Dropped

Five Nights At Freddy's

Welcome To Freddy's!

With its October release looming in the distance, Universal Studios has just released the first teaser trailer for the upcoming Five Nights at Freddy’s film.

Game Brought to Life

The premise of the film will be staying close to the source material of the same name, made back in 2014. In the horror game, players play in the shoes of new night security Mike Schmidt and start the game with his first night at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria. The horror stems from the titular animatronic suits of Freddy and his friends coming to life at night. They kill people they find by stuffing them into other animatronic suits. As Mike, players have to survive from 12 AM to 6 AM using cameras and two doors, and limited power, to wade off the animatronics as they navigate through the many rooms of the pizzeria.

High Profile Casting

Having gone through development hell since April 2015, Blumhouse Pictures left no stone unturned in the film’s casting. In the protagonist role of Mike Schmidt is Josh Hutcherson, of Hunger Games and Bridge to Terabithia fame. Playing the villainous lead of William Afton, who is the creator of the killer animatronic suits and present throughout the Five Nights game franchise, is horror movie icon, Matthew Lillard. Mary Stuart Masterson is also attached in an unknown villain role, as well as Piper Rubio, who will play Mike’s sister Abby Schmidt. Blumhouse did not forget about the animatronics either. Jim Henson’s Creature Shop has been tasked with bringing the stars of the film to life. Other films they have helped out with are The Muppets, Where the Wild Things Are, and recently helped with the stop motion of Pinocchio by Guillermo del Toro.

Premiere and Teaser

With a premiere date of October 27th, 2023, Five Nights at Freddy’s will be released in theaters and Peacock simultaneously. The trailer featuring the first look at Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie the Bunny, Chica the Chicken, and Foxy the Pirate Fox can be seen below.
