Expend4bles Drops Red Band Trailer Full Of Bloody Violence

The Expendables Are Back In All Their Bloody Glory

Since the first trailer for Expend4bles dropped, also referred to as The Expendables 4, fans have been clambering for a red band trailer. One thing was certain, they did not want another PG-13 Expendables film.

Their prayers have been answered because Expend4bles will indeed be Rated-R. And to go along with this news, Lionsgate has released a new bloody red-band trailer chock-full of hard-hitting action.

A Return To Roots

The first two movies gave all the carnage and comradery that fans could ask for when it made the most out of its hard R rating, but many considered the third a letdown when it left all that behind. Many criticized the toning down of action and violence, but the franchise creators have listened and are returning to their roots.

What Is Expend4bles About?

As with most Expendables films, the fourth installment will see returning cast members join new ones in a conglomeration of the top action stars. Armed with every weapon they can get their hands on, the Expendables are the worlds last line of defense and the ones called when no options are left.

However, the new and younger team members are bringing something completely different to the table. New Blood takes on all new meaning in an action-packed four-quel guaranteed to show no mercy.

What Else Do We Know?

Expend4bles is directed by Scott Waugh, with the story written by Spenser Cohen, Kurt Wimmer, and Ted Daggerhart. In the previous three films, Sylvester Stallone was the main protagonist, but this time he’s taking a back seat to Jason Statham.

This may be his last film as part of the franchise, as he hinted from the set that it may be time to leave the franchise in the hands of his co-star. But if it truly is his last round as an Expendable, he is leaving things in capable hands as Jason Statham is still going strong in his action career.

Fans have to wait and see the movie to know how things play out. Expend4bles hits theaters on September 22. Fans can view the red-band trailer below.
