Disney+ UK Announces Dua Lipa Docuseries and Gives First Look At Keanu Reeves F1 Show

Disney+ U.K. has revealed a sleight of new projects coming later this year

At the Edinburgh TV Festival, Disney+ U.K. announced the Dua-Lipa docuseries Camden, which explores how London’s Camden neighborhood forever changed the lives of music’s biggest stars and revealed a first look at the Keanu Reeves hosted Formula One show Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story.

Dua Lipa’s Radical22 and Lightbox, in association with Day One Pictures, will produce Camden, a four-part original documentary about the extraordinary untold stories of how some of music’s most iconic acts were shaped in London. Chris Martin, Pete Doherty, Mark Ronson, Questlove, Little Simz, Nile Rodgers, Boy George, Yungblud, Black Eyed Peas, Jazzie B, Bob Vylan, Chuck D and Sister Bliss will all feature with Lipa. Asif Kapadia will serve as the series director, while Toby Trackman, Yemi Bamiro, and co-director Sarah Lambert will direct episodes. 

Disney+ U.K. also released some first-look images for the Reeves-hosted Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story. The four-part documentary tells the story of “how, in 2009, competing in the most expensive and technologically advanced racing series on Earth, the impossible happened. An understaffed, underfinanced, and independent team won the World Championship — with a team that cost just £1.” It will premiere on Disney+ in the U.K. and Hulu in the U.S. later this year.

Additional Disney+ U.K. Announcements

Additionally, Disney+ U.K. unveiled Victoria Beckham, Tom Ford, Kim Kardashian, Marc Jacobs, Baz Luhrmann, Amber Valetta, Jean Paul Gaultier, Hillary Clinton, Stella McCartney, Clare Danes, Elizabeth Hurley and Tyson Beckford as contributors to the fashion series “In Vogue.” They also announced a docuseries with the working title “World War Shoe: Adidas vs. Puma,” which will investigate “the inner workings of two of the biggest sporting brands in the world, with a unique shared history and rivalry.” Matador Content and David Beckham’s Studio 99 are set to produce.

“We’ve spent the past year making ambitious documentaries with exclusive access to A-list names with the best creative talent in the business,” Sean Doyle, Director, Unscripted, Disney+, EMEA, declared. “It’s been great to see the reactions to Finding Michael and Save Our Squad with David Beckham, and I can’t wait for audiences to see what else we’ve been up to and discover stories they may not expect to see on Disney+.”
