Teravision Games has partnered with IllFonic, developers of Predator: Hunting Grounds (2020) and Friday the 13th: The Game (2017), and the two studios are tackling a horror cult classic for their next title: Killer Klowns from Outer Space. Based on the 1988 film of the same name, Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game was announced last year. IllFonic released a new trailer alongside Gamescom that shows off the game’s wacky, violent, and nostalgic take on the asymmetric multiplayer genre. 

Save the Planet… or Destroy It

The latest trailer gives fans a first look at in-game alpha footage of the multiplayer experience. Players will either take on the role of human survivors or the titular Klown creatures. They will have widely differing goals and loadouts that are dependent not only on their teams but on the characters they choose as well. The team of Killer Klowns will be tasked with either capturing or killing their human targets. Much like how Illfonic’s Friday the 13th: The Game had different stats and weapons for each version of Jason in the game, it appears that players will be able to customize their Klown and the team role they play. The different Klown models can terrorize their targets with a vast arsenal of alien tech from the movie: popcorn canons and boxing gloves to deal damage, balloon animals to track, cotton candy cocoons to trap, and even a hypnosis ability to lure in unlucky prey. In another feature similar to Friday the 13th: The Game, it looks like Klown players will have access to a variety of over-the-top kill animations to take their victims down.
