Cindy Kaza Opens Up About Her New Dead Files Gig on DTL!

How Kaza Overcame Feeling “Nervous” After Replacing Amy Allan

During the latest episode of Dead Talk Live, psychic Cindy Kaza opened up about her role on The Dead Files. While she admitted to feeling “nervous” about replacing original medium Amy Allan, Kaza explained that the change strengthened the show.

“I’m nervous in every shoot,” Kaza admitted. “I mean, doing a walkthrough makes me nervous…But it’s interesting because I wouldn’t expect every previous fan to be okay with the change. Some people are upset about the change; some people are excited; some people are in between. Change is hard…but it’s okay.”

The Dead Files focuses on investigator and former NYPD homicide detective Steve DiSchiavi, who teams up with Kaza to look into potentially paranormal spaces. Previously, Allan was the main medium since the show’s 2011 debut. Kaza replaced her earlier this summer.

Despite understanding that “not everyone is gonna like [her]” from the original fanbase, Kaza is keeping her head up as she forges on for the show’s 15th season.

Though the show provides horror fans with a supernatural twist, The Dead Files prioritizes the team’s objective research behind a home or a family, which the new medium called “refreshing.” While she focuses on communicating and/or finding spirits, Kaza explained how she and Steve diligently maintain their separate roles.

“I can do a walkthrough in silence…and then [I get to] meet with the families and hear what my partner has uncovered from an angle that has nothing to do really with him believing in [the] paranormal. He believes, but he’s going into the research with a different mindset.”

Season 15, episode seven of The Dead Files premieres on September 7 via Discovery+, fuboTV, and Max, and will introduce viewers to a romance novelist who faces something sinister after her daughter moves back home.
