Wednesday Actor Percy Hynes White Reportedly Written Out of Season 2

Wednesday Percy Hynes White

The Report Comes Months After White Denied Assault Allegations

According to a new report, Wednesday actor Percy Hynes White was written out of season 2 of the show. The report claims that industry sources and an insider allegedly close to White’s family confirmed that his character, Xavier Thorpe, will not appear in the second season. However, no one from Netflix has publicly announced cast details due to the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.

A source defended White amid the report by insisting, “He never took part in any of the false claims against him, which were on Twitter and never followed up or substantiated. Percy is respectful, gracious, [a] talented actor, a true professional. He’s unfailingly polite to all, including the crew and his fans, most of whom are loyal to him as it should be. For Netflix to drop him from the show is a disgrace. It was just false rumors. It’s just not right.”

What Happened With Percy Hynes White?

The Canada native was publicly accused of sexual assault by a woman who posted her claims via X (formerly Twitter) earlier this year. She alleged that she was at White’s party, where he assaulted her and attempted to get other women drunk.

White vehemently denied the accusations in an Instagram post and claimed he had never met the woman before.

“Earlier this year, somebody I’ve never met started a campaign of misinformation about me online,” the Netflix star noted. “Because of this, my family has been doxxed, and my friends have received death threats. Underage photos of me were used, and examples of me acting in character were presented as hateful. My friend Jane was falsely portrayed as a victim, and her attempts to set the record straight have been ignored. She gave me permission to include her in this message. The rumours are false. I can’t accept the portrayal of me as someone bigoted, or criminally negligent of people’s safety.”

What Is Wednesday Season 2 About?

After the season 2 renewal was confirmed by Netflix, series lead Jenna Ortega explained that the show would focus less on romance and more on Wednesday Addams’ journey. In season 1, fans followed the character’s love triangle with Xavier and eventual traitor Tyler Galpin, a.k.a “The Hyde,” (Hunter Doohan).

The show also teased fans that there would be more horror in the show, staying true to its roots.

It’s no surprise that Ortega will reprise her role for season 2, but now that White has reportedly been taken out of the script, fans are hopeful that they will still see series stars Doohan, Emma Myers, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Joy Sunday, Luis Guzman, Christina Ricci and several more.
