“Merry Christmas One And All:” Mariah Carey Announces New Holiday Tour

Mariah Carey

The Defrosting Has Begun

Autumn may have just begun, but Mariah Carey is already defrosting as we speak as she announces her “Merry Christmas One and All” 2023 tour. The singing powerhouse went to Instagram to drop the news with a playful caption telling her fans, “Yes, the actual defrosting has begun!” The post continues to inform her fans of all the cities she will be visiting, starting with Highland, California, on November 15th and ending in New York City on December 17th. Other cities include (consecutively) Los Angeles, Denver, Kansas City, Toronto, Montreal, Detroit, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Boston, Philadelphia, and Baltimore. The Christmas queen is on her way to continue her holiday tradition!

The Christmas Tradition Continues

This will not be the first Christmas show Carey has performed. Nobody could forget “All I Want for Christmas is You: A Night of Joy and Festivity” at the Beacon Theatre in New York City. Two years after that, in 2018, she expanded the show into a tour as she brought Christmas joy to Europe. She then continued by having a run of shows in 2019 in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and Boston. Much like Santa, Mariah Carey truly doesn’t stop for the season. In 2022, Carey revived the tradition after the pandemic ended with the “Mariah Carey: Merry Christmas to All! tour. A merry surprise for all after a hard year. The tickets to her New York show sold out after one hour of announcing the concert. If anyone owns Christmas, Carey gets the gold star (at the top of the tree).

Carey even brought the tradition to the screen with various Christmas specials. She filmed a CBS special titled “Mariah Carey: Merry Christmas to All!” which featured her two New York shows from the tour mentioned above. In 2020 (during the pandemic), she released “Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special” on Apple TV+, which featured Ariana Grande and Jennifer Hudson. All bases have been covered to give audiences the ultimate Christmas experience, whether it be in person or on-screen, and this year is clearly no different. It’s exciting to see how she’ll elevate the show from the previous years and bring new, fun energy to her performances!
