Mysterious Happenings Are Afoot In New Trailer For Showtime’s “The Curse”

The Curse

What Could Go Wrong?

The trailer for Showtime’s newest series, The Curse, has just been released, and it is certainly chilling. Get ready to find out the mysterious happenings that are on their way.

I Curse You

More information along with this trailer was released today at the 2023 New York Film Festival. This series is described as a comedy, yet the trailer had a chilling feel to it. The series is about an alleged curse that disturbs the relationship of a newly married couple as they try to conceive a child while co-starring in their new home-improvement show. The trailer has Emma Stone’s character saying “What can go wrong?” which everyone knows should never be said. Furthermore, her husband gives a little girl a $100 bill and then tries to take it back. When watching back the recording, Stone’s character hears the little girl say, “I curse you,” which is definitely where their true haunting begins. Based on the trailer, the couple will go through a string of bad luck and arguments.

Everyone Will Get To See Who You Really Are

The series stars Academy Award Winner Emma Stone as Whitney Siegel, best known for her roles in La La Land and Cruella. Co-starring as Stone’s husband is Asher Siegel, who is present in the trailer as Nathan Fielder. Fielder is a Canadian comedian and actor best known for his roles in Nathan For You and The Rehearsal. Also in the film is Benny Safdie. Safdie is an American director, screenwriter, and actor best known for his role as Nick Nikas in Good Time with Robert Pattinson and his role as Edward Teller in Oppenheimer.

Things Have Been A Little Weird

This series is co-produced by Showtime and A24. Moreover, it was co-created, executively produced, and written by two of the stars, Benny Safdie and Nathan Fielder. Fielder is also the director. Stone is an executive producer with Dave McCary, Josh Safdie, and Ali Herting. The series premieres internationally on Paramount Plus on November 10 for Canada. Then, on November 11, it will be available for streaming in the UK, Australia, Latin America, South Korea, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria.

This series will be ten episodes long for its first season. After being released on streaming services, it will air on Showtime on Sunday, November 12 at 1 p.m. ET.

This Isn’t Your Typical Home-Flipping Show

After snatching back his money, Fielder’s character, Asher Siegel, gave to a little girl, his life will never be the same. He may find himself followed by a string of bad luck. Though Fielder’s character says, “We’re doing good here” and “We’re good people,” neither is true. Even if it was, it’s all downhill from here. Viewers interested can watch the first episode on November 10 by streaming it on Showtime and Paramount Plus. Stay tuned for more information as it rolls in, and be sure to watch this chilling and mysterious series. You can view the trailer below.
