Jeff Wadlow’s New Horror Just Found Its Main Star
Blumhouse Productions has a busy schedule for 2024, as Night Swim and the Speak No Evil remake are already set to terrify audiences all over the world. However, some interesting new details have just been revealed regarding one of its most intriguing yet mysterious projects for next year, Imaginary – specifically, it looks like the film just found its main star.
DeWanda Wise Will Lead Imaginary’s Cast
Jurassic World Dominion star DeWanda Wise was revealed to not only play the main character in the upcoming horror film, but to produce the film as well. A first trailer for Imaginary, which is being distributed by Lionsgate, made its debut in attachment to Five Nights at Freddy, another Blumhouse production that is still scaring audiences in theaters as we speak. As people wait for the trailer to likely drop online in the next few days, a synopsis for Imaginary has already been provided. The horror film will focus on protagonist Jessica (Wise) going back to her childhood home with her daughter Alice – however, as Alice finds an old stuffed bear named Chaucey, the girl’s behavior becomes more and more sinister, leading Jessica to believe there’s more than meets the eye with the old toy.
Who’s Involved In The Project?
Imaginary has quite a few names attached to it. Alongside DeWanda Wise starring as the main character, Tony Award-winner Betty Buckley (Carrie, The Happening) and Matthew Sato (Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.) have also been added to the cast. The film will be directed by Jeff Wadlow (Cry Wolf, Kick-Ass 2, Truth or Dare, Fantasy Island), who also co-wrote the screenplay along with Greg Erb, Bryce McGuire, and Jason Oremland. Ryan Turek is set to executive produce, just like he did on countless horror films as of recently, including Insidious: The Red Door, M3GAN, and Exorcist: Believer. Imaginary is currently set to be released on March 8, 2024.
In anticipation for Imaginary’s trailer to be posted online, make sure to catch its preview in theaters.
