‘Blue Bloods’ to End With Season 14

'Blue Bloods' final season to be 14. The Reagan family.

A Two Part Ending To A Story Of New York City Crime

After a 13-year run, Blue Bloods has announced its conclusion in 2024 with Season 14. Creators Robin Green and Mitchell Burgess will not be releasing the ending in one piece, though- so how will they conclude one of fans’ most treasured crime dramas?

A Recognized Story Of Suspense and Law

Starring Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, and Bridget Moynahan, Blue Bloods centers on the Reagan family, a multigenerational family of New York City police officers. The show portrays a deep dive into law enforcement and the several challenges being faced by all members of the Reagan family, each representing a different position of police work.

Known as a Friday night favorite, Deadline reports that Blue Bloods gathered 9.54 million views during its recent season and was ranked the number 3 most popular broadcast drama. Despite its recognition, however, the renewal faced challenges as CBS pleaded for financial cuts to minimize development spending and ensure production guarantee. Financial budgeting included cutting actors’ salaries in order to retain the entire cast’s employment.

Crime Concluded: The Dual Finale

Blue Bloods’ finale will consist of 18 episodes, which will be released in two parts. The first part, consisting of 10 episodes, will air on CBS and stream on Paramount+ starting on February 16.

Blue Bloods will end at Season 14. The Reagan family at the dinner table.

The remaining part will be released in the fall of 2024, with an exact month and date unknown. This will conclude Blue Bloods with 293 episodes from a starting date of September 24, 2010. CBS also announced the ending of its other show, Young Sheldon, with 14 episodes in its final season.

Show lead Tom Selleck’s recent statement acknowledged the production staff’s gratitude for the show’s highlighted themes and the privilege he feels to have been able to work with his costars. “For the past 13 years it has been an honor and a privilege to work on a show that not only celebrates the men and women who protect and serve in New York City, but also displayed the importance of family. Working alongside these incredible actors, writers, producers, directors and crew has been a dream come true and I’m grateful to have been a part of this extraordinary group for over 275 episodes.”

Based on Blue Bloods’ favorable reputation in the crime drama realm, fans should be nothing but excited to see what the show has in store for its finale.

Blue Bloods can be watched on CBS, Paramount+, Amazon Prime Video, and more.

'Blue Bloods' ends at Season 14.
