Is Bush Still the Game?

Guy Richie, known for his fantastic movies and multi-layered storytelling, has a new series coming to Netflix! The weed game will never be the same.

Sticky Bush

Fans of the film The Gentlemen will be pleased to know that the production for the series adaptation has released photos of the cast! Unfortunately, the original actors of The Gentlemen will not be returning for the series. However, fans can expect all new faces in the rich world of weed farming. One of these new faces is Theo James (White Lotus). James is looking directly into the camera in one of the released pictures, sipping on a glass of wine and looking menacing. Not an easy thing to do. James plays Eddie Horniman, an aristocrat who inherits his estranged family’s estate but discovers it to be Europe’s largest weed farm.

Other new faces are Kaya Scodelario (Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge) and Vinnie Jones (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels). The Netflix series is loosely based on Guy Richie’s film, which starred Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam, Colin Farrell, Jeremy Strong, and Michelle Dockery.

Skunk-A-Moola

A hint at the plot was revealed in the synopsis, which read, “A host of unsavory characters from Britain’s criminal underworld want a piece of Eddie’s operation.” A longtime collaborator of Guy Richie, Vinnie Jones, is seen sipping tea from an exquisite floral cup in the released photos. His style matches the aesthetic that the film maintained and perfected. There are still many things that are unknown about the series; for example, if there will be a rap song break in the middle of the series, like the film had. Or if they can keep up the humor that was present in the film adaptation.

Of course, since Guy Richie co-wrote and executive produced The Gentlemen, fans can expect a certain level of storytelling in the series. Richie also directed the first two episodes of the Miramax TV production. The series is co-produced by Netflix, Moonage Pictures, and Miramax TV. No official release date is confirmed yet, but it will be in 2024. Fans of Guy Richie should be on the lookout for this series, and go watch the film again!
