The Highly Anticipated Next Entry In The Hit Franchise Gets Its First Trailer

After ten years of both patient and impatient waiting, Grand Theft Auto VI has finally released its first trailer. The trailer was released on YouTube and has begun to spread throughout all social media and the internet. It has quickly garnered the attention of millions of people who have been eagerly awaiting the release of the game. Its predecessor, Grand Theft Auto V, has been getting support for the past ten years and has been one of the most successful games to grace the gaming industry.

This next installment follows the same inherent style as the other games in the franchise but with a few new twists. The game will feature its first-ever female protagonist, Lucia. Other features will be slowly revealed as the game reaches its tentative release window of 2025.

Rocky Relationship With Leaks

Originally, the trailer was meant to be released tomorrow, but Rockstar Games (the developers) decided to rush up the release due to a leak from a random Twitter account. This was a surprise to many, but at the same time, it was also expected.

Leaks have been happening more and more frequently in the gaming industry as of late. Games like Fortnite, Destiny 2, and Call of Duty suffer from leaks as well, compromising the excitement factor of new content for said games. The leak problem is especially impactful when it comes to GTA VI, as the game has been in development for a long time and has probably been the most anticipated game of this generation.

The first major leak came from TikTok after one of the developer’s sons leaked a 360 view of part of the Vice City map in an in-game test video. The next major leak was the previously mentioned Twitter leak from a few hours ago, which leaked the trailer for the game in its entirety. This perpetuated the sudden release of the trailer, and since then, the leaker from Twitter has had their account suspended.

Some Basic Game Release Details

At this point, the game is set to be released in 2025, but no specific date has been announced yet. The game will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. Plans for a PC release have not been confirmed as of yet, but if it follows every other Rockstar Games release, it will probably come to PC the year after the console versions are released.

Fans will eagerly have to wait a bit more to get their hands on the next installment of the GTA franchise, but it sure looks like it will be worth the wait.
