The God Of Pleasure, Lauv'abrarc, Awakens

Madmind Studio shared a “cinematic trailer” for their upcoming video game Lust of God, the third entry in the first-person Lovecraftian horror video game series, following its predecessors Lust From Beyond and Lust For Darkness.

What Can Be Seen In The Trailer?

Being just a tad longer than a minute, the trailer can only show so much to the fans – but the glimpses they get will definitely get their hype up. The trailer opens with the heirs of the ecstasy cult rebuilding the structures of the organization, thus summoning the god of pleasure, Lauv’abrarc. However, as the giant, terrifying entity sets foot on Earth, it gets slaughtered by what appear to be military weapons that tear apart its body, a representation of Nietzsche’s famous quote “God is dead, and we humans killed Him,” which, on a philosophical level, marries the Lovecraftian elements of the franchise perfectly.

On a visual level, this trailer promises to deliver an even bigger spectacle than its predecessors. The visuals are jaw-dropping, juggling mesmerizing colors and terrifying albeit fascinating designs – Lauv’abrarc especially.

What About The Game?

According to the video game’s synopsis, the main character is a young woman trying to get out of the cult’s headquarters, a closed zone surrounded by the military and containing the remnants of the god. Since the rituals of pleasure include altering their physical forms, she will face the mutations of her own body, and players will get to feel and experience the endless ecstasy of Lauv’abrarc themselves.

The game is set to continue the Lovecraftian atmosphere of the franchise. This time, however, it will feature elements of psychosis and surrealism that players will get to hear directly in their head as a “voice of ecstasy” that will truly add to the ASMR experience. Moreover, the influence of H.R. Giger (the artist that designed the Xenomorph for Ridley Scott’s Alien) and nightmarish painter Zdzisław Beksiński will play a huge role in the visual appeal of the game.

While there is no official release date yet, make sure to check out the trailer for Lust of God.
