Kristen Stewart Is On A Quest For Vengeance In Trailer For 'Love Lies Bleeding'

Love Gets Messy (And A Little Bloody)

Would you do anything for the ones you love? The new trailer for A24’s Love Lies Bleeding just dropped, and viewers get a glimpse into how messy emotions can get. From sweet moments to raging gun fights, there is no true moment of rest in the upcoming movie.

The Project

Love Lies Bleeding is set to be released on March 8, 2024. The film itself is produced and distributed by A24, which has been on a roll, creating hit after hit, especially since they continued creating pieces during the strikes in the industry. It is also co-produced by the company Film4. Rose Glass is working on the project as the director. Glass made her debut in the film world in 2019 with her psychological horror film titled Self Maud, which was nominated for two awards at the 74th British Academy Film Awards. The most well-known name connected to the project is Kristen Stewart, who will be playing one of the lead characters, Lou. Alongside Stewart, Katy O’Brain will be playing the character of Jackie, and Ed Harris will be playing Lou’s father. Jena Malone, Anna Baryshnikov, and Dave Franco will also be in the film. Most of the filming took place in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and production wrapped in August 2022. Viewers finally have a glimpse into the mysterious yet intriguing film with the new trailer being dropped.

The Trailer

The trailer immediately opens up with a tense atmosphere as Stewart’s Lou is asked by an FBI agent about the whereabouts of her father. The entire opening sequence is intercut with haunting shots of Ed Harris’ character with a gun and someone falling. A24 films truly never disappoint with the cinematography. The tone was set right away for viewers to know what to expect from the film. It isn’t your typical love story and it will look into messy family dynamics as well. The film’s entire aesthetic is stunning as well. Set in a small town, which is presumably in New Mexico, the trailer does a good job of making audiences feel like there is so much more going on beneath the surface. The performances feel very well done. The characters seem believable and their personalities translate well even through a two-minute supercut marketing the movie. Stewart and O’Brien make an adorable on-screen couple, so it will be interesting to see how their relationship is tested throughout the film. Love Lies Bleeding seems to have it all. The thriller will definitely take viewers on a wild ride, especially when Jackie gets tangled in the messy relationship between Lou and Lou’s father. This is looking to be another win for A24 as they continue to tell visually pleasing and unique stories.

The film will be set to make its world release in 2024 at the Sundance Film Festival and will be released in theaters on March 8th, 2024.
