Trailer For ‘Chasmal Fear’ Stabs At The Body Cam Horror Video Game Genre

The new “Chasmal Fear” trailer reveals a new frontier for the body cam horror video game genre.

A Terrifying New Survival Horror Experience

Developer MystiveDev has given fans a first look at its latest creation – a horror video game titled Chasmal Fear, a single-player experience that combines survival horror game dynamics with a body cam footage aesthetic.

A Trailer Full Of Blood And Action

The trailer captures the viewer’s attention with a short yet highly descriptive first look that dives deep into the game’s world. Here, Chasmal Fear displays its futuristic setting in Magnus Facility, an underwater building where things take a bad turn. From what it seems in the trailer and according to the first announcements, players’ choices will be crucial and will heavily affect the playthrough, locking and unlocking paths in a maze-like combination that constantly introduces new levels and ultra-realistic environments. Resources like ammo are scarce. However, the most interesting horror elements include terrifying creatures haunting the facility. Not only are they extremely belligerent, but they will also start to mutate after being killed, giving birth to stronger and faster breeds.

The visuals are jaw-dropping and contribute to creating an immersive atmosphere that is guaranteed to make players jump out of their seats.

What More About The Game?

MystiveDev is really focusing on the replayability aspect of Chasmal Fear. Not only do the decisions players make affect story developments but there are also some randomized events throughout the game, such as unexpected jumpscares or crumbling structures. Don’t despair, though! The game works both as a single-player survival horror and a co-op game, so you can bring along a friend to tag team your escape. Fighting monsters isn’t the only thing this game is about – since they keep mutating into more evolved (and deadly) species, players may opt for a stealthier approach, sneaking past the monsters instead of facing them directly.

The game is currently slated for a PC release on Steam, but Chasmal Fear is still missing an official release date as of now. Stay tuned for updates!
