Jenna Ortega Teases ‘Wednesday’ Season 2 Will Be Bigger

Jenna Ortega teases fans on what to expect from ‘Wednesday’ Season 2.

Nevermore Bigger Than Ever Before

Topping the first season of Wednesday is no easy feat; however, Jenna Ortega teases how the second season of the series will do just that.

Back to Nevermore!

Fans are patiently waiting to return to Nevermore, and Ortega has been hard at work studying her script. At the Emmys red carpet, Ortega spoke with E! about the upcoming season. The few details she gave about the next round of episodes were cautious but enlightening. According to Ortega, the season will take a twisted turn into the creepy rather than the kooky to deliver some action-packed adventures.

“I’ve received some scripts for the second season, and we’re definitely leaning into more horror,” she shared. “It’s really, really exciting because, all throughout the show, while Wednesday does need a little bit of an arc, she never really changes, and that’s the wonderful thing about her.”

Ortega added, “There’s really, really good one-liners, and I think everything’s bigger. It’s a lot more action-packed. Each episode will probably feel a little bit more like a movie, which is nice.”

Production & Other Details

Wednesday is in the process of moving production from Romania to Ireland for the second season. The start of filming will be this April. This time, Ortega is credited as an executive producer, meaning she will work closely with fellow executive producer and director Tim Burton. Ortega mentioned that Burton was the main reason she signed up for the show.

Even in the first season, Ortega had a collaborative experience with the show and its staff. She admitted that she had some changes made to the script of the first season. She did this because she is “very, very protective” of her character. However, Ortega is happy with where the series is going, with more horror and less romance.

Fans will have to wait a bit to see the second season of Wednesday since filming hasn’t begun yet. The first season became one of Netflix’s most-watched shows on their platform. Fans of Wednesday, the Adams Family, or just Jenna Ortega can catch up on the first season of Wednesday on Netflix now.
