Netflix Releases First Look Trailer For ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’

The Wait is Almost Over!

Netflix has dropped the trailer for Avatar: The Last Airbender, giving a glimpse of the live-action adaptation of the iconic and beloved characters from the classic animated show.

First Official Trailer & First Character Looks

The official trailer for Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender has been released ahead of its upcoming February 22 premiere, less than a month away. Avatar: The Last Airbender is a worldwide phenomenon. Its popularity is reflected in how much time and money Netflix has put into the product. Without a doubt, the quality of the show looks stunning. The trailer is roughly two minutes long and showcases a rough outline of what the season will be covering, which is quite a bit.

In the opening seconds of the trailer, a voice pleads with Aang. It says, “The Fire Nation is embarked on a dark path. And the world might never recover. The world needs the Avatar. It needs you, Aang.” The trailer gives fans sneak peeks into many beloved characters like Bumi, the Earth Kingdom ruler of Omashu, played by Utkarsh Ambudkar. Another first appearance of a fan-favorite character is the creature Nyla, alongside the bounty hunter June, played by Arden Cho.

Yipp! Yipp!

While several people are waiting and counting the days until the release of Avatar: The Last Airbender, some are fearful of the release. For those unaware, this is not the first time the Avatar series has taken a jump into the live-action space. Many years ago, M. Night Shyamalan gave it a go, and it unfortunately was not received well by fans and critics. Of course, there was nothing bad about the film. Other than some plot holes, poor fight sequences, and a world that seemed to be built by someone who had never watched the series, etc. This most likely has given some fans a sort of PTSD from the idea of Avatar: The Last Airbender being told in live-action format again. Netflix, however, has taken the project very seriously. The released trailer and past stills from the series are evidence of that. It will be the fans who ultimately decide whether Netflix gets the passing grade or not on February 22.
