New Horrors From NEON

“Cuckoo” Crazy

While not much is known about Cuckoo, the film has been in the works for the last two years but finally, an image released from NEON suggests it is a psychological slasher. With Hunter Schafer bandaged and in hiding from someone coming after her. This will be Schafer’s second feature film after Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

The movie will be premiering at SXSW in March and then will be released theatrically in May, the official plot synopsis reads: “On a trip to the German Alps with her father and stepmother, Gretchen discovers that the resort town where they’re staying hides sinister secrets, as she’s plagued by strange noises and frightening visions of a woman pursuing her.”

Directed by Tilman Singer (Luz), Cuckoo stars Schafer alongside Dan Stevens (The Guest), Jessica Henwick (Underwater), Marton Csókás (Freelance), Greta Fernández (Santo) and Jan Bluthardt (Luz).

Other New Films From NEON

NEON is gearing up for a frightening 2024 with three new independently produced films lined up for release this year.

First with Immaculate, starring Syndey Sweeny (Euphoria) as an American nun of devout faith, embarking on a new journey in a remote convent in the picturesque Italian countryside. Her warm welcome quickly descends into a nightmare when it becomes clear her new home harbors a sinister secret with unspeakable horrors. Immaculate is directed by Michael Mohan (The Voyeurs) and will hit theatres next month on March 22, 2024.

Before its release on May 3, 2024, Cuckoo premieres at SXSW in March, and stars Hunter Schafer.

Finally, the mysterious Longlegs starring Nicolas Cage as a serial killer pursued by an FBI agent, played by Maika Malone, received a teaser earlier this week on Neon’s youtube channel and will hit theatres July 12, 2024.
