‘Knuckles’ The Echidna Warrior Gets His Own Adventure In The Film’s First Trailer

Paramount+ has unveiled the teaser for ‘Knuckles’ — the spin-off series for ‘Sonic the Hedgehog.’

Make Room for the Eye Opening World of Knuckles the Warrior

Paramount+ isn’t dragging its knuckles; it’s unveiling Knuckles — the teaser trailer for the Sonic the Hedgehog spin-off series.

Who is ‘Knuckles?’

The six episodes focus on the character Knuckles, who was previously seen in the first installment of the franchise. Moreover, the upcoming series is sandwiched between the second film, which came out in 2022, and the third film, which is due by the end of the year. For those unfamiliar — in Knuckles’ backstory, his species went extinct due to a fierce battle between his own Echidna tribe and the owls. In the aftermath, he’s unhappy with the most famous hedgehog of all: Sonic. Knuckles is on a quest to find himself. Along the way, he lends a hand — knuckles and all — to Wade, who is the sheriff of Green Hills. Furthermore, Knuckles mentors him to become an Echidna warrior like himself.

Who Are The Voices?

Idris Elba has been confirmed to be the voice behind Knuckles.

Besides Elba, the ensemble cast features Adam Pally in his role as Wade Whipple, Ben Schwartz as Sonic the Hedgehog, Tika Sumpter as Maddie Wachowski, and Colleen O’Shaughnessey portraying Tails. The lineup also includes guest stars Stockard Channing, Edi Patterson, Scott Mescudi, Ellie Taylor, Julian Barratt, Rory McCann, Cary Elwes, Christopher Lloyd, Paul Scheer, and Rob Huebel.

Who’s Behind The Series?

The team behind the series includes Showrunner Toby Ascher, who is the series creator alongside John Whittington. In addition, they had help from Paramount, as well as influential figures involved in the other Sonic installations. Moreover, the director of the pilot is Jeff Fowler, and Whittington, the head writer, wrote the script. Brian Schacter and James Madejski are writers of other episodes.

Final Thoughts

The six-part spin-off series will premiere April 26th, but since that feels like the distant future — be sure to check out the other Sonic film that started it all — currently streaming on Paramount Plus, Paramount Plus Apple TV Channel, and the Paramount+ Amazon Channel.
