Warner Bros Reveals More Footage in New ‘Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire’ Trailer

Skar King Slashes his Way into the Monsterverse

On Wednesday, February 14th, Warner Bros released a new trailer for the upcoming Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire movie. The trailer revealed several new action-packed footage of the Titans squaring off against each other. Here is everything to know about the new trailer and film.

More Story Elements and Skar King

While the first trailer was about showing Godzilla and Kong working together, this new trailer focused on the story and Skar King’s threatening presence in the Hollow Earth and on Earth. The beginning of the trailer opens with a scene in Egypt, where Kong emerges from underground and then quickly transitions to Godzilla, wrecking havoc underwater. Soon after, Jia, the young deaf girl from Godzilla vs Kong, is seen having visions of the future involving the two titans once again. This prompts Dr. Andrews, Bernie Hayes, and Trapper to visit the Hollow Earth to check up on Kong.

The next couple of sequences show Kong jumping into a wormhole to the Hollow Earth and Godzilla in his familiar glowing blue form. When Kong finds other Titan apes like himself in this strange underground world, he is soon shocked to see he has stepped foot into Skar King’s domain. The next part of the trailer shows them fighting one another and reveals Skar King’s weapon, the Whipslash. This fearsome weapon appears to be made of the spine of another Titan, which is seen dealing severe damage to Kong’s arm as they fight.

The rest of the trailer shows nothing but one intense scene after the next, having Godzilla (in his new pink form) and Kong (with his gauntlet) fight each other in Egypt, a strange blue beam drilling into the ocean, Kong and Skar King fighting in a city, and Godzilla expelling waves of blue atomic energy. As the trailer wraps up, there are other scenes, like Kong equipping his new gauntlet weapon and duking it out against Skar King as he throws a chunk of a building at Kong with his Whipslash. Finally, the last scene shows Godzilla and Kong standing together with a mighty roar before it cuts to the title screen for Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire
