Final Trailer For ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Drops

M. Night Shyamalan Deleted His Netflix Account

Finally, after an initial announcement in 2018 (around six years ago), fans are finally getting a second live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender. A new and final trailer has just dropped ahead of the adaptation’s release on February 22.

Airing Things Out

Sitting at one minute and twenty two seconds, the trailer takes off running. Right off the bat, fans are treated with a look at the Avatar state, with Aang’s signature tattoos and eyes glowing. Even within the anime (yes, the original series was an anime and so was The Boondocks) the Avatar state was an electrifying moment. If nothing else, the live-action adaptation has at least captured that feeling. Also featured in the trailer is Avatar Kiyoshi, who is also seen in her Avatar state. Her voice can also be heard in the beginning of the trailer, instructing Aang. Also shown off in the trailer is the Southern Air Temple with flying bison in the air. The final shot before the trailer ends is of Appa in the air, rushing towards the camera and revealing the release date.

Fingers Crossed

As previously mentioned, this adaptation has been a long time coming after having been announced as far back as 2018. So around six years of development coupled with the weight of being the second live-action adaptation of this beloved series ensured there was a lot riding on this show. Unfortunately, however, fans are already complaining about what little has been seen from the trailers. Seen in comment sections on various sites such IGN and Netflix’s own channel on YouTube, fans are not impressed with the show’s CGI. Gordon Cormier is set to play the titular character alongside Kiawentiio Tarbell as Katara and Ian Ousley as Sokka. Stay tuned, as the series is set to premiere this Thursday, February 22 on Netflix.

A lover of gore and over the top violence, no movie can make my stomach squirm. The only thing better than a bloody death scene is a well choreographed stunt. Whether it be action or horror, if it has blood in it, then I've likely already seen it.
