‘The Batman: Part 2’ Release Date Has Been Pushed To October 2026

Calendar Man Strikes Again

The Batman’s most fearsome foe is time itself. Time is against the film’s release date as well.

5 Years Apart?!

Warner Bros. has announced some unfortunate news regarding the release date of The Batman: Part 2. The film was set to release in October 2025, but the movie has been delayed by a full year and will now be released in 2026. The announcement, released on March 12th, came along with several other release date shifts. A concern was the date overlapping with Paul Thomas Anderson’s upcoming film. This new release date means that there will be a four-year gap between the two films.

Not much is known about The Batman: Part 2, but it was announced back in early 2023 by Peter Safran and James Gunn. The movie is not a part of the DCU, similar to other projects that came out before the announcement of the newly found DCU. However, James Gunn mentioned that this does not mean the studio will disregard it. Gunn states the studio is “fully invested in the success of The Batman, just like we are with everything else.” The DCU will have its own Batman film called The Brave and the Bold, which will come out sometime in 2026 or 2027.

Other Projects In The Batman Drought

There is currently a lack of Batman content for fans to enjoy, but there are other projects in the works for the new DC Universe. One of these projects is James Gunn’s Superman, which has recently entered production and is scheduled for release in July 2025. Despite delays for other projects, the release date for Superman has remained unchanged so far. Another upcoming project is Peacemaker Season 2, which will be set in the DC Universe, unlike the first season.

Fans of The Batman should be excited for the upcoming The Penguin TV series, set to premiere in the fall of 2024. Colin Farrell will be reprising his role as the Penguin in the series. Although The Batman: Part 2 has yet to be released, fans can still find the first movie on various streaming platforms. It is available on Netflix until April 1. It is also available on Hulu with Live TV add-on, Max, and is available to rent/buy on Amazon Prime.
