Mike And Marcus Become Criminals In Trailer For ‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die’

For the first time in the history of the "Bad Boys" franchise, Mike and Marcus are running from the law instead of enforcing it! Will Smith and Martin Lawrence star in Columbia Pictures "BAD BOYS: RIDE OR DIE."

Action, Fun, and Funny

The Bad Boys franchise is aging like fine wine. The films don’t try to be anything more than what they are: a fun experience filled with fights and laughs.

Ride or Die

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are reprising their roles as Miami PD detectives in the upcoming film Bad Boys: Ride or Die. However, this time around, they find themselves on the wrong side of the law for the first time in the franchise’s history. Sony Pictures released a trailer for the movie today, which showcases everything fans expect from the Bad Boys films, including laughs, fast cars, cool guns, and plenty of exciting shootouts. The film doesn’t attempt to reinvent the series but executes the tried-and-true formula well.

Nevertheless, the upcoming film has one significant change that the previous ones didn’t: Mike (Will Smith) and Marcus (Martin Lawrence) breaking the law.

This alteration in the foundation of the series gives the movie a fresh feel, and the trailer certainly reflects that.

Rumors of Ride or Die and Previous Films

It was around 2020 that fans learned that a fourth film in the Bad Boys franchise would be happening. This film is a direct sequel to the previous 2020 film Bad Boys for Life. The third film in the franchise was received well by fans and critics alike. In any case, the third film generated $426.5 million at the box office to become one of the year’s highest-grossing films. This was also near the height of the pandemic, so getting people to go to the theater was no easy feat.

Like the previous film, Bad Boys: Ride or Die will be directed by Adil El Aebi and Bilall Fallah. The directing duo also worked on the now-scrapped project from the Warner Bros. Discovery film Batgirl and directed and produced two episodes of Ms. Marvel for Disney.
