'Five Nights at Freddy's 2' Will Arrive Fall 2025

The Pizzeria is Open Again for Business

It’s official–the Five Nights at Freddy’s (FNAF) movie sequel is happening. After several issues concerning the development of the first movie, the FNAF video game franchise finally took off with a shiny new film as of October 2023. Unsurprisingly, the film was an immediate success, and fans have been pushing for a sequel. Now, it looks like their wishes are coming true.

They Always Come Back

On Tuesday, April 9, Blumhouse producer, Jason Blum, teased via CinemaCon and social media a behind-the-scenes photo from within the Jim Henson’s Creature Shop.  “Jim Henson’s Creature Shop is working their magic again!” Blum said. “We aren’t sure what they’re working on, but we know it will be great!”

The photo contained what appeared to be someone working on an animatronic exoskeleton reminiscent of the FNAF franchise. While nothing had been confirmed about a sequel up to that point, it certainly implied a new FNAF project was in the works. On April 10, Blum sent out another post with a picture of the four iconic animatronics from the Five Nights at Freddy’s film and confirmed that a sequel will indeed be expected for Fall 2025.

Cast and Plot

No other information regarding the plot or cast has been revealed at this time. Although, based on the ending of the first film, it is already implied where the next title could go storywise. The first film starred Josh Hutcherson as Mike (widely known for his role in The Hunger Games series), Piper Rubio as Abby, and Elizabeth Lail as Vanessa. The director, Emma Tammi, along with writers Scott Cawthon (developer of the FNAF franchise) and Seth Cuddeback, are likely to make a return. Stay tuned for more information.

Five Nights at Freddy’s is available to stream now on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, YouTube TV, Fandango, and Google Play. The film is rated PG-13 and has a runtime of 1 hour and 49 minutes.
