Ralph Ineson Cast As ‘Galactus’ In Marvel’s ‘The Fantastic Four’

A Galactic Level Threat Inbound

Marvel movies have declined in the public eye, and without a major villain to tie together all the various superhero TV shows and movies like Josh Brolin’s Thanos once had, it has understandably lowered the hype for many a Marvel movie fan. However, this could all change with a new galactic threat in the form of Ralph Ineson’s Galactus, set to play in Marvel’s upcoming Fantastic Four by Ralph Ineson.

A Villainous Backstory

Not a new addition to the many actors who’ve taken part in a Marvel movie, Ralph Ineson previously played the part of an unassuming Ravager pilot in the 2014 superhero flick Guardians of the Galaxy. Among his other roles include the Green Knight in the movie of the same name, and as the character Vince in Sherlock, but has been well-known from his appearance in the U.K. version of The Office as Chris Finch. Excited to be playing Galactus, Ralph Ineson tweeted “Actual Marvel Villain, get in!” implying that Galactus will have a bigger role than just in his movie debut in Marvel’s future-release film Fantastic Four.

Galaxy-Sized Impact

Galactus, also known as the “Devourer of Worlds” in the Marvel comics, does exactly as his namesake suggests, consuming entire planets as fuel. Not only does Galactus have a long history with the Fantastic Four, but Galactus wields the Power Cosmic, a source of nigh limitless cosmic energy that can be bestowed upon Galactus’ various servants, known as the Heralds of Galactus. As Galactus will be played by Ralph Ineson in a future film, it would be reasonable to assume that the Silver Surfer or other Heralds of Galactus will be making appearances in other movies, making Galactus play a bigger part in the overall Marvel universe than Johnathan Majors’ portrayal of Kang the Conqueror.

What’s (Possibly) Next For Marvel

With the newest galactic-level threat inbound, the Marvel Cinematic Universe could potentially see a return of popularity, but it isn’t guaranteed to happen even with a new possibly overarching villain. Until the new Fantastic Four film does begin showing in theaters, a Marvel fan should keep their hopes up that the arrival of Ralph Ineson’s Galactus will herald a new villain that will tie together the future Marvel movies and regain some of the hype the Marvel Cinematic Universe has lost since Avengers: Endgame.

Expect the arrival of Ralph Ineson’s Galactus in the new Fantastic Four movie to hit theaters in 2025.
