Next Benoit Blanc Mystery is ‘Wake Up Dead Man’

It’s Detective Benoit Blanc’s Most Dangerous Case Yet

There’s no rest for this detective even after the knives have been drawn and the glass shattered.

Benoit Blanc is Back

Daniel Craig is set to return as Benoit Blanc in the third installment of the Knives Out murder mystery films. The second sequel is a part of director Rian Johnson’s $450 million two-sequel deal with Netflix. After the hit of Knives Out, two sequels were to be expected when Netflix and Johnson made the deal. Now, two years after the first sequel, Glass Onion, was released, the second sequel has a name: Wake Up Dead Man.

What’s Next for the Detective?

Little is known about the film at this time. A 45-second title announcement video dropped, revealing the film is titled Wake Up Dead Man. The announcement also revealed Craig’s return as Benoit Blanc and the film’s release year set for 2025. Production is expected to begin in a couple of weeks.

In the short video, Craig as Benoit Blanc voiceovers: “In the beginning, the knives came out. Then, behold, the glass was shattered. But my most dangerous case yet is about to be revealed.” This is done over the previous film’s titles, Knives Out and Glass Onion, as a magnifying glass falls, cutting through and breaking their respective titles to reveal Wake Up Dead Man as the next installment.

Currently Confirmed Cast

Two castmates have been confirmed for Wake Up Dead Man. Josh O’Connor (Challengers) and Cailee Spaeny (Civil War) will join Craig in the film. O’Connor and Spaeny’s roles are currently undisclosed, with Craig’s returning role as Benoit Blanc being the only revealed role.

Johnson returns as director, producer, and writer for Wake Up Dead Man. Ram Bergman and Leopold Hughes also return as producer and co-producer respectively.

Knives Out is available for purchase on Prime Video while Glass Onion is available for streaming on Netflix. Wake Up Dead Man is set to release sometime in 2025 on Netflix. Keep up with Dead Talk News to learn more about the film as information is revealed.
