“Elden Ring” Sells 25 Million Units

High Sale Numbers Ahead of Anticipated DLC Release

It’s no secret FromSoftware’s Elden Ring was one of gaming’s biggest hits in the last decade. It would only make sense then that the DLC to this beloved game would receive as much fanfare.

A Milestone

With Shadow of the Erdtree set to release June 21, 2024, Elden Ring has officially reached 25 million units sold. In March of the same year, it was announced that 23 million units had been sold of the game. That means in the span of three months, the game has sold 2 million more units. Elden Ring originally released on February 25, 2024 and since then (and even before any information was officially announced), the hype train for this DLC has been gaining nonstop momentum. It has been a surreal journey seeing fans speculate online what to expect and when it would finally release. Now, merely a week before its release, the base game is still gaining popularity.

Not Stopping Here

As momentous as this milestone is, this number is likely to grow even more in no small part due to people finally getting their hands on the DLC. In addition to this, more and more streamers have been jumping on the bandwagon. One such streamer includes Kai Cenat, who went viral while first playing the game a little over a month ago. When the DLC finally does release, the game will likely experience another explosion in popularity and sales as more streamers get into the game and expose the game to an even larger audience. At the time of this writing, Shadow of the Erdtree is set to release in just eight days.

A lover of gore and over the top violence, no movie can make my stomach squirm. The only thing better than a bloody death scene is a well choreographed stunt. Whether it be action or horror, if it has blood in it, then I've likely already seen it.
