While putting Tomb Raider (2013) on the same pedestal as other games might be a stretch, thanks to a much more brutal tone and relentless pacing, Lara’s origin story is well worth playing today.
Despite being in development almost as long as the Avatar sequels, Dead Island 2 isn’t exactly polished…but it is fun.
The Oscars, or the Academy Awards for some, are the height of award shows; if a director’s movie gets one of those, they’re set. Seemingly. Fighting and clawing to get a movie made, and then the equally strenuous battle of getting people to see it takes a lot out of someone. Most probably viewed getting some love from the Academy as crossing the finish line. It’s fair to say, however, that there’s just as much negativity around those awards as there is praise and roses.
Despite being a timeless tale, and beloved by children all over the world, this is the one that got it right.
