Heihachi Mishima Joins ‘Tekken 8’s Roster

Heihachi Returns From The Dead As 'Tekken 8's Latest DLC Character

n a surprise announcement, Heihachi Mishima has been revealed to be an upcoming returning character to the roster of the popular fighting game Tekken 8, making his reentry from the previous Tekken titles.

While appearing in every previous Tekken game, fans assumed that the character’s initial absence, combined with his death in many of the franchise’s previous titles, would remain dead.

However, it looks like one of Tekken’s main antagonists isn’t staying down for this newest match as he makes his return as the game’s latest DLC character.

Heihachi Returns…Again

Having been punched to death and thrown into a volcano near the end of Tekken 7’s story mode, fans reasonably believed that Heihachi would not be returning to Tekken 8’s roster.

Even the game’s director, Katsuhiro Harada, described Heihachi’s death as “convincing,” leaving fans to believe this would be the last we see of the villain.

However, with the recent trailer announcing Heihachi’s miraculous survival and return to the playable character roster, the character will likely be a constant staple in the Tekken universe.

Get Ready For The Next Battle

As Heihachi is one of Tekken’s most recurring characters, who has a habit of returning after death multiple times, it’s likely past Tekken characters could also be returning after some less deadly story shenanigans from Tekken 7.

Could fans see the return of Lucky Chloe and Gigas? Or possibly characters from the previous title’s DLC packs like Fahkumram, Kunimitsu II, and Lidia Sobieska?

Regardless of how fans feel about it, Heihachi’s return opens the door for other fan-favorite characters to return in Tekken 8’s playable cast, even if only through a future purchasable DLC pass.
