Art The Clown Unleashes Christmas Eve Hell in ‘Terrifier 3’ Trailer

Santa Claus is Taking On A Radically New Form

Christmas Eve is a time when everyone awaits the man who comes down the chimney to bring gifts—or, in this case, a creepy clown who arrives at one’s house to unleash bloodshed.

According to Deadline, Art the Clown is back in a third Terrifier film set during the happiest time of the year: the night before Christmas. Behind the disturbing new project is Cineverse, with direction by Damien Leone as well as producer Phil Falcone.

What’s It About?

Variety reports that Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton), a mime who goes on violent rampages, is back to disturb the quiet region of Miles County on Christmas Eve. In addition to the talented Thornton, others involved in the chaotic mix include Lauren LaVera (Sienna), Samantha Scaffidi, Elliot Fullam, Jason Patric, Chris Jericho, and Daniel Roebuck (Santa Claus).

A More-Grounded Departure

When audiences last left off with Terrifier 2 (2022), there was a surreal twist that was inspired by ‘80s horror filmography. Moreover, Art was decapitated but he wasn’t down for the count for long, as Vicky gave birth to his head which was very much alive. Furthermore, when speaking with Variety last June, director Damien Leone discussed the creative decisions behind the sequel and how he was inspired by Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors. For the third installment, however, he’s decided to go back to his original film’s roots due to critical consensus that the surrealism didn’t work as well as more grounded realism — a promising sign, because any filmmaker who can use criticism to improve their work is a good filmmaker indeed.
