The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom – Traversing Hyrule Trailer (2024) Official Nintendo Trailer
This New Trailer Reveals New Locations And Mechanics In Nintendo’s Latest
On June 18th, 2024, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom took the internet by storm with its release trailer. Nintendo released the second trailer for the game, titled “Traversing Hyrule,” giving fans five minutes of new information on Echoes of Wisdom.
New Locales
The main focal point of the trailer is the new locations in the game. These locations include Central Hyrule, Gerudo Desert, Jabul Waters, Eldin Volcano, and Faron Wetlands. These locations are home to both people new and old. Hyrule and Gerudo house the Hylians and Gerudo, respectively. Jabul Waters is home to both the Sea and River Zora. The Sea Zora appears to be similar to the ones seen throughout the series, while the River Zora is akin to the enemy Zora Link has fought prior. Eldin Volcano is home to the Zora, while Kakariko Village sits at the base of the mountains and is home to the Sheikah People. The Faron Wetlands are inhabited by the Deku Scrubs, who have not had a game appearance since The Legend of Zelda: TriForce Heroes released in 2015. When the trailer gives an overview of the map system, it displays two new unmentioned locations: Suthorn Village and Suthorn Beach.
Ability Crossovers
Many of the new mechanics in Echoes of Wisdom are similar to mechanics in other games, such as Tri being able to unlock fast-travel Waypoints.

However, there are a plethora of new skills for Zelda to use. This includes creating echoes of objects for which the game is named. But in this trailer, four new mechanics come to light. The first comes after Zelda learns how to create a carrot echo: after this, a horse can be called from anywhere! By riding the horse, Zelda can move faster across the map, hop over short obstacles, and crush smaller enemies while galloping. Sometimes, Zelda can come across Business Deku Scrubs manning smoothie stands. These Business Scrubs allow players to combine items they gather into smoothies that provide different effects during gameplay.
Tri gives Zelda the ability to bind and reverse bond with objects, echoes, and even enemies! When Zelda uses bind, magic tethers the player to a target object and makes them follow Zelda’s movements. In the trailer, this is used to move obstacles, unearth chests, and even drop enemies off cliffs. The opposite of bind is the reverse bond, where instead of objects following Zelda’s movements, Zelda follows theirs. Zelda can tether onto moving platforms to cross gaps or attach to creatures and utilize their movement abilities. Zelda can freely swap between the two at any given time. This system is reminiscent of Breath of the Wild’s Magnesis rune and Tears of the Kingdom’s ultra-hand ability.
