Interstellar (2014) Official Trailer
Viewers Are Now Preparing to Buckle up in December
Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar was a big hit amongst moviegoers, and many wished they would have been able to see it on the big screen when it originally released. Thankfully, the film is being re-released for its 10th anniversary, but a bit behind schedule. Originally, the film was slated to come back to theaters on September 27 but will now arrive on December 6.
Why the Delay?
The reasoning behind the delay is to be able to accommodate the alignment with the home entertainment re-launch. Warner Bros. Pictures (co-producers of the film) are currently assisting Paramount with the revival of the film for its 10th anniversary. Rumors were going around about the film simply not having any 70mm IMAX prints left, but those rumors were shot down by Studio sources who explained that the wear and tear of the film being played in theaters has made it hard for it to be revived.
The Original Release
Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar originally released on November 5, 2014. The movie ended up generating an impressive box office number of $731 million by the end of its original run. The film involved big stars such as Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Michael Caine, Jessica Chastain, Casey Affleck, Topher Grace, and even Matt Damon as a surprise star. The film earned immense praise and is one of the most critically acclaimed films ever made, not only for its storytelling but also for its dedication to accuracy and visual effects innovations.
Conclusion
Director Christopher Nolan has been a long-time advocate for the use of film, as well as IMAX, for making films. He always urges audiences to see his films in the best format available to them, whether it’s digital IMAX or 70mm print. Being one of the most commercially successful directors to grace the scene, his work is meant for big screens and theater experiences.
Interstellar will now re-release on December 6th, 2024. Stay tuned for more updates.
