Teaser Trailer For ‘Squid Game’ Season 2 Released

Squid Game Season 2 (2024) Official Netflix Teaser Trailer

Netflix Gives Season 2 the Green Light!

The games are back on Netflix! The company has released a proper teaser trailer for the second season of its acclaimed series, Squid Game

The Squid Game Saga Continues

According to Deadline, Netflix released the latest teaser trailer for the long-anticipated second season of Squid Game. During its peak, the series was one of the biggest surprise hits on the entire streaming service, so fans will be seated for this one.

The teaser was fairly spartan, only showcasing Lee Jung-Jae, who returned from The Acolyte to star as main protagonist Hwang Gi-Hun. Afterward, the numbers of the major contestants flashed in the darkness. Additionally, the iconic morning bugle played to herald their arrival. Netflix will release the season on December 26, while the third and final season will premiere the following year.

What to Expect from Season 2?

The creators provided several pieces of information for this latest season. In the same article, series creator Hwang Dong-hyuk confirmed that in the new season, Gi-Hun would return to the games after three years to “seek revenge” as a more hardened character.

There was another teaser released a week earlier, featuring a wave of contestants dropping dead while sprinting down a race track while the Front Man invites the audience back. Finally, this new season had the tagline “The Real Game Begins.” Given Netflix’s expedited pace for the following season, fans have every reason to believe this latest season will up the ante on all fronts.

Continuing a Franchise

Outside the series, the Squid Game franchise has expanded to a massive scale. During the fall of 2021, the series became a ubiquitous pop culture phenomenon, expanding into memes, merchandise, and social media trends. Famously, YouTube philanthropist Mr. Beast recreated most of the series with a higher relative budget than the actual show.

Furthermore, Netflix has even tried to recreate the series in real life. However, this was not only criticized for missing the entire point of the show’s message, but many rumors circulated of horrid working conditions and terrible management. With such a massive reputation surrounding the show, one can hope the second season can keep the flame going.

Squid Game will be found on Netflix.
