Alien is a franchise that has been going strong since the late 1970s, with dozens of films and short films, video games, and TV series. Its latest installment, a VR-only shooter called Alien: Rogue Incursion, finally received its release date via two new trailers: December 19th, 2024. 

Weaponry and Bugs

The two latest trailers for Alien: Rogue Incursion focus on two different aspects of the game: weapons and gear, and the aliens themselves. The first thing to be shown off is the famous M314 motion tracker, prevalent in almost every piece of Alien media. It can be dual-wielded alongside any weapon. Weapons include the “Heavy Bore” revolver, a 12-gage riot shotgun, and the M41 pulse action assault rifle. Each weapon comes equipped with a handy ammo tracker. 

Two aliens were revealed in the second of two trailers, those being the Facehuggers and the classic Xenomorphs. Facehuggers emerge from the eggs and, upon spotting the player, make a beeline towards them and latch onto the player’s face. It is unclear if this warrants an instant kill or not, as the screen fades before viewers can see any death animation. The Xenomorphs are given much more screen time, shown to use the environment to their advantage. The Xenomorphs are able to climb through vents and duck around objects all in an attempt to kill the player.
