Goodrich (2024) Official Rotten Tomatoes Trailer
Fatherhood Spans the Ages in this Heartwarming Comedy
On Friday, the trailer for the dramedy Goodrich dropped, in which Michael Keaton tackles multigenerational fatherhood of both the nine-year-old child and grown Mila Kunis.
Hallie Meyers-Shyer acts as writer/director, marking her second feature after the film Home Again with Reese Witherspoon.
What’s It About?
The storyline on IMDb reads: “A father seeks the help of his adult daughter to raise his young twins after his second wife leaves him.” Moreover, according to Deadline, Andy Goodrich (Keaton) is a man whose life is upended when the mother of their nine-year-old twins goes to rehab for 90 days, thereby forcing him into single fatherhood. Goodrich is in over his head, so he solicits the advice of his daughter, Grace (Kunis). In turn, Grace, who is pregnant, develops into a parental figure of sorts to her own estranged father.
What Happens In The Trailer?
In the trailer, Goodrich clumsily navigates parental rites of passage, such as PTA conferences and group therapy with Grace. He’s trying to keep up appearances and prove to his nine-year-olds that he’s not the old man he clearly is. Later, during a humorous exchange between Grace and her much younger half-siblings, she discusses the rationale for why she refers to Goodrich not as “our dad” but rather “her dad.” Due to the massive age difference of being 27 years older, Grace says it’s unusual for siblings to share the same parent “except maybe in LA.”
Where To Watch
Michael Keaton and Andie MacDowell are teaming up again for the first time since the comedy Multiplicity (1996). Beyond the talented actors, the heartwarming story features the following: Michael Urie, Carmen Ejogo, Laura Benanti, Kevin Pollak, Vivien Lyra Blair, Nico Haraga, and Danny Deferrari. Back in January, Ketchup Entertainment bought the rights to the film, and this fall, the film will get a wide theatrical release on October 18th.
