Tim Curry’s Special Appearance
On August 21, 2024 – the day of Stream’s release – it was announced that Tim Curry would be making a special appearance in the film. This will be the first movie Curry has been in since the 2010 comedy Burke and Hare. Although the veteran actor has done voice acting and worked on animated projects, Curry hasn’t been on the big screen since his stroke in July of 2012, after which he utilized a wheelchair. The movie’s writer, director, and editor Michael Leavy said in a statement, “This has been a really hard secret to keep and contain our excitement, especially for this long. We are so happy and thrilled to bring Tim back to the movies and back to the big screen!”
Release Date and Production
Iconic Events released Stream to movie theaters nationwide on August 21, 2024, with a limited screening until August 25, 2024. Stream was produced by Steven Della Salla, Michael Leavy, Jason Leavy, Phil Falcone, Damien Leone, George Steuber, and Marcus Slabine, and the production company was Fuzz on the Lens Productions. The movie’s production was 90% finished and in post-production in September 2021, according to the director, Micheal Leavy. Due to the pandemic, there were unforeseen expenses needed to follow safety guidelines, so the filmmakers launched a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo to help pay for the remainder of production costs.
